Beautiful maternity coat needed

My lovely, lovely winter coat will now no longer button up. I need a maternity coat OR a coat that will see me though until March, perhaps a swingy one? However, I don't like ANY of the maternity ones I've seen. I also don't want to spend a fortune on something I'll only wear for a few months, so something I could wear afterwards wold be fab.

Any ideas?

Ah saltyair it's not just me then...I just came on to appeal for a non-disgusting maternity coat after getting increasingly annoyed with my inability to find anything suitable - I think you've got more chance of the moon on a stick than a beautiful coat. ASOS have some bearable ones but the one I like is £90 :(

JoJoMamanBebe have ones that would be fine for corporate dress or maybe look ok on someone tall but they are really, really not "me". I would rather wear DP's Cotton Traders thing than something that dull.

In case anyone knows of such a thing, I am after a warm but not hideous coat in size 12. I am small with huge boobs so can't really get away with a size 16 anorak (sleeves!) or I would just borrow one off my mum!

There are hardly any, then they are either beige, only have three buttons (draughty) or minging like those awful "Noppies" things. I went through in a swing coat I already had last time but it wasn't very warm and I can't face freezing walks to work again.

I am keeping an eye on ebay but again there's not a lot. Good luck saltyair, will let you know if I find anything.

Good luck! I was in your predicament last winter - in desperation I brought a cape from ASOS (returned it). Ended up getting by with my usual winter coat with a thick maternity jumper underneath - although it only just did up towards the end of winter. I do recall seeing some nice ones but they were v v expensive! Layers may be the way forward.

I'd settle for just not completely horrid...I may have to layer then. In which case where to go for beautiful layering knitwear......

I got a lovely tulip shape coat from H&M online for £20. It is warm and cosy and a fab shape.

It was recommended to me VIA Mumsnet!

I've given up and will be wearing an old anorak of DPs. I have bought some nice new shoes instead though :)
