I need dress help

KatyMac · 04/12/2011 15:20

I wear heavy duty bras so I need shoulder straps
I have a fat (tish) tummy & bum so a waist doesn't help
I have nice legs
I like this but have virtually the same dress from last year

this & thiss will not help my waist situation

Can anyone find me something (not too young looking as I'm 43)

i hate skater dresses

you sound a bit like me, only i am modest of boob

Will see if i can link to recent dress purchase

Cybbo · 04/12/2011 15:47

Whats the occasion Katy?

Do you have good tops of arms

Whats your view on control pants

chibi · 04/12/2011 15:48

this is super flattering, i wore it with a skinny gold belt and looked hothothot :)

KatyMac · 04/12/2011 15:49

Control pants hurt (I have IBS/tummy problems atm)

Arms not too good/not too bad

We are going on a cruise

Thanks chibi but that neckline & sleeves don't work well on the larger of bosom Wink

chibi · 04/12/2011 15:50

i don't blame you, control pants are rubbish, what price looking nice eh? better to choose a camouflaging dress

Cybbo · 04/12/2011 15:51

Okay so its general dining with the captain (arf) party dress?

Colour prefs?

KatyMac · 04/12/2011 15:52

I like this but it's black

I like red/purple/green but block colours not really patterns

& super cheap

OP posts:
chibi · 04/12/2011 15:52

what kind of neckline? We need tethers on the case...

KatyMac · 04/12/2011 15:53

& this is beige Shock

Not cross over, round or v - I guess or that slightly higher curved slit thing

OP posts:
noddyholder · 04/12/2011 15:55

What about trousers top and heels?

Cybbo · 04/12/2011 15:56

what size are you>

I'm aware I'm asking lots of questions but I think a lot of the ones being linked to are

a) too young

b) unsophisticated

C) potentially not great for larger ladies

KatyMac · 04/12/2011 15:57

I have several

But we dance.....I do like a skirt.....a swirly one

OP posts:
KatyMac · 04/12/2011 15:58

Sort of a 14 (with a full skirt)

43....I did say

OP posts:
DamnDeDoubtance · 04/12/2011 16:05

I wore This skirt from next last night with a halter top and felt amazing.

Super swishy.

Cybbo · 04/12/2011 16:05

We know you are 43! Not sure those dresses are great for 43 yr olds. Bit young and cheapo looking if you're not careful IMO

Whats wrong with the TK MAxx one you linked to? Or is black really not your thing?

noddyholder · 04/12/2011 16:07

I am 46 and wouldn't wear those really. You could always wear a trouser suit if your hair is swishy Grin

KatyMac · 04/12/2011 16:09

This first one or the lace one

I love that skirt......but I'd never walk in those shoes

OP posts:
Cybbo · 04/12/2011 16:11

The one you said was beige is better. The sort of sheer striped one

noddyholder · 04/12/2011 16:17

this is lovely Sexy but elegant and you could wear in lots of situations different tights heels etc

KatyMac · 04/12/2011 16:18

The beige & the Red/Black from the OP are the same dress

I already have one with green/purple in the panels

OP posts:
KatyMac · 04/12/2011 16:20

I like the V back but it won't work with a Bra from Cammell Lairds

OP posts:
Cybbo · 04/12/2011 16:20

You said THIS one was beige

Good luck with finding a dress

KatyMac · 04/12/2011 16:23

Yep - that is the same dress as this one

It's very, very flattering in cut; the vertical seams are great for my figure, but the colours are quite drab
