Help please! Work Christmas Party dress after 1 year off and 1 size larger :-(

So... work do is in a local restaurant but all the girls dress up and I need something to wear! Confidence is low - still carrying baby weight and am 5'3 size 14. I have no idea what to wear - not confident to wear anything too clingy as tummy is not good. I think I need to wear something with not too high a neckline, as boobs are 36dd. I have light brown hair, green eyes, tend to wear black and cool toned colours.
Any ideas please? Feel rubbish and need a nice dress to feel confident in!

I am not sure about cool toned colours. But I am about the same height as you, have somewhat eaten all the pies more baby weight than you and this looks good on me. I do need a brooch to hold it in place at the front, it fits perfectly but tends to move about a bit, but it looks good with a brooch anyway.

I think the shutter/scallop effect is good at concealment/confidence boosting? alexon, £94.50.

Oh thank you that is lovely - I have about 4 coast dresses in my wardrobe in 10s and 12s, as it used to be my first stop for dresses - don't know why I didn't think of it before!

Thank you sirtoffee that is also lovely - I would have avoided it in the shops tho as I always thought layers would add bulk? I am ample in the hip area!

I think it tricks the eye into making the wearer look a bit more streamlined than they otherwise might to, but to be honest I think the coast one is much nicer anyway (house of fraser has the dark pink long sleeve for £76, and the blue sleeveless version for £68)
