I am 37, 5ft 7, slim size 10/12 and really like the look of this dress www.joules.com/en-GB/Womens-Dress/Red/M_LUSCOMBE/ProductDetail.raction for wearing over the Christmas period. Just worried it's a bit too 'Christmasy.' Would welcome some opinions. It looks lovely in the Joules catalogue on the model. My normal style is generally classic/slightly bohemian and I have shoulder length blonde hair.

Im sorry but I hate it. It looks like something a child should be wearing. Plus, even on a slim frame the pleats that start under the bust are going to make you look like your hiding a pregnancy.
Don't get me started on the pattern.
Stick to boho, way cooler Grin

The only possible way you could get away with this is if it was layered up with a big chunky slouchy black cardi, wool tights and slouchy/ biker boots. But even that would be a close call.

Thanks for your frank response, unacceptablebehaviour. I wonder if I'm losing the fashion plot! Any other opinions welcome......

Nope, sorry. Unless you are completely flat chested it is likely to make you look like a sofa, however slim you are.

Tinselitis · 02/12/2011 21:11

I think with your slim figure it will be lovely, although it isn't Christmassy to me - more summery! Its a pretty dress, though. What shoes would you wear with it?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/12/2011 21:13

I love this one though - but I suspect many people would hate it! The shape is much better.

worrisomeone · 02/12/2011 21:13

Thanks Tinselitis. Was thinking of black opaques and black heels.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie, that yellow dress would really not suit my colouring (fair hair, fair skin, rosy cheeks) although I do like the style. Looks a bit summer weddingy to me.

Sorry worrisome, I was a bit harsh Blush

Wasn't offended at all unacceptablebehaviour. I appreciate your honesty.

The roseable one is nice. As is the LBD on there.

I think the others are difficult, and you could only wear a couple of times with such a recognisable print.

MrsJangleBalls · 02/12/2011 21:39

I think the red dress is lovely!

If you don't want to wear it again you can sell it to me. Xmas Grin

worrisomeone · 02/12/2011 21:47

Thanks MrsJangleBalls. Think I might order it and give it a try.

Nope, sorry. It looks frumpy although it could be 'funked' up for daywear, but there's certainly nothing christmassy about it.

worrisomeone · 02/12/2011 21:55

It definitely doesn't look frumpy in the Joules catalogue, although agree it does in the link provided.
