Anyone got a bullet bra?

MordechaiVanunu · 02/12/2011 18:42

I've ordered a bullet bra from What Katie Did today, and am not really sure if it's going to look ridiculous or not.

I've bought a lovely pencil skirt and short fine knit cardi from Coast and they looks very fifties together, so I thought a more pointy pert bosom would complete the hourglassy look.

But will it make me look like I'm likely to take your eye out if you stand too close? Will small childen stare open mouthed at the lady with the pointy tits??

I've ordered ot now so I'll just wait and see, what if anyone has any experience please share...

Will I be Joan Holloway or a Dalek?

We really need a link i think

scentednappyhag · 02/12/2011 19:07

I've been wanting one for ages, but DH has told me that I would look ridiculous Envy watching with interest.

MordechaiVanunu · 02/12/2011 19:19

Oh I'm on my iPad, and haven't worked out how to do links with it.

Can anyone help and link to the What Katie Did website?

I haven't told my DH. I would get very raised eyebrows.

If it looks OK I'll just wear it with the cardi and see how he reacts. If he screams 'what the hell has happened to your tits???' I'll know it's not a goerGrin.

Is it this one? Wowee. I have been watching Mad Men with DH and saying, I want pointy boobs. Unfortunately he said, don't be ridiculous. Good luck with it!

Havingkittens · 02/12/2011 19:44

I have one. I had high hopes but it doesn't really work for me. Although I think it's actually the wrong size. Did you follow the measuring instructions on her site rather than going by your normal bra size? I think the sizes work slightly differently due to the lack of elastic.

My problems with it were that the points were not pointy, they sort of rounded off. They start going off into a point but then at the nipple they were shaped as if you have a round bulbous nipple stuck on the end. It may have just been that one that wasn't finished off as it should've been. It's a shame as I really like the sheer ones they do now. Anyway, they have great customer service and are lovely so if you decide it's not for you they will happily give you a refund or exchange very quickly.

MordechaiVanunu · 02/12/2011 19:55

That's it blossoming, but I've ordered it in sheer black.

Kittens, they have a brilliant instant chat facility for asking questions on thier website and I got advise on the size. It's odd sizing though the vintage sizing I went from a 32F to a 36DD. I got a bit down about feeling fat at 36, until I pulled myself together and acknowledged I hadn't acyally changed in size.

We'll see how it goes. I'd love it to work, as my skirt it really tight and wiggly IYKWIM and I think a pert bosom would give it real vintage look.

I'll let you know.

Thinking about it my boobs are naturally very 'rounded'. big but full, so I wonder if they won't make a good pointy shape?

They sell pointy pads for the ends on the we site, but say if you have the right size you shouldn't need these.

Also someone on the forun recommend a little bit of cotton wool in the end if your boobs don't quite make the point.

All sounds very oddGrin. really wait for it to arrive now.

Mordechai - I would have to fold mine to get them into that, due to their sagginess! Sad

HotBurrito1 · 03/12/2011 10:29

I Had a very pointy bra once (although not as pointy as what Katy did ones). Looked great, uplift, perky but no cleavage.

I love WKD underwear but haven't got any of the bullet bras! Let us know how you get on with it. They also have a good outlet on ebay where they sell all the end of ranges/seconds etc.

Luminescence · 03/12/2011 13:41

Watching with interest.

MrsLettuce · 09/09/2012 09:32

I know this is a pretty old thread but I'd love an update! I'm after ordering one of the WKD bras y' see...

scripsi · 09/09/2012 12:39

am quite interested in this too, but hadn't thought of them before. I like sixties dressing but not in a wiggle dress way (I don't have the, ahem, assets), more of a shift dress/monochrome/minidress way and I think that pointy bras would work for that.

Chubfuddler · 09/09/2012 12:40

Why on earth would you want pointy tits?

MrsLettuce · 09/09/2012 12:44

Why on earth would you want squished orbs for norks? Wink Breast shape is always changing in fashion, great article on that here.

Chubfuddler · 09/09/2012 12:50

My norms are neither squished nor orbs. They are pert and round.

MrsLettuce · 09/09/2012 13:17

I'm sure you have beautiful breasts, glad your happy with 'em.

In all seriousness though, the reason I'm after this outdated shape is 'cause I love the 40s / 50s vintage look and the 'right' silhouette makes it easy to add a vintagey edge to cheaper high street stuff. Most period stuff is out of my price range and a lot of repro is either damned expensive or thin cotton, not to mention being a bit OTT (for me) for everyday.

For example this blouse costs nothing would look totally vintage with a bullet bra and the right jeans, this OTOH costs a fortune and is just too much.
