Eyeshadow recs please.

Hi, I'm after a glittery eyeshadow for a party I've got coming up. I'd like a midnight blue shade I think, but I'm willing to be persuaded otherwise! I have a dark complexion (similar colouring to Kelly Rowland), and I don't usually wear eyeshadow so any tips would be appreciated! Thanks.

I just discovered bobbi brown long wear shadow. It really is brilliant. The black pearl looks a good purple. I'm going to try it tomorrow.

Barry M eyeshadows are glittery and come in loads of bright colours. Definitely good for parties :)

MAC do a gorgeous blue eyeshadow called Deep Truth (I think). Beautiful deep metallic cobalt blue, looks stunning on dark skin (I'm Asian skin tone) and can be layered over a black/dark grey if you want a darker blue.

alternatively Sleek (from Superdrug) do excellent cheap jewel toned eyeshadow palettes and their range is targeted towards Asian/black skin tones. the colours are really pigmented, soft and bargainous £6/7 for palette of 10/12 colours!

I love the bobbi brown ones too - always used to wear clinique but find bobbi brown even longer lasting and more flattering.

I've seen swatches of Giorgio Armani eyes to kill intense eyeshadows and it looks gorgeous.

I've got an amazing glittery lancome one that's a gunmetal grey colour, not sure if they do it in blue or not but if they do it would be fantastic, worth checking out one of their counters

Nars do some great glittery eyeshadows. Their Christmas palette has 3 different blacks with various coloured sparkle running through them.

They also do a really lovely teal one with silver glitter in it, called Tropic. I'm sure they have a deep blue sparkly one too but can't think of the name.

I just got back from the US where they have this amazing make-up shop called Sephora. I bought a couple of eyeshadows (their own brand) and they are honestly amazing. Last way longer than some of the more expensive brands I've tried over here. Glittery without spreading glitter all over your face and while other eyeshadows have a habit of wearing off and gathering in the creases of your eyelid, these ones didn't budge all day. You can buy online.

They used to have Sephora here but it closed down. There's a branch in Paris too so I suspect there's a european website you can buy from.
