And me

madammecholet · 02/12/2011 16:35

Wise as in 'wise in the ways of style and beauty' and Avid in the sense of a avid (meaning keen or having an ardent desire or unbounded craving;) shopper...

The thread started about 2 years ago as an offshoot of a thread about people who were going to try not to buy anything for the following year. The wise and avid thread was started by people who wanted to only buy nice things that they really wanted. Wise - not impulse buy stuff, Avid - still love shopping!

NotaTeacherBasher · 02/12/2011 17:20

Thank you Smile

AmberNectarine · 02/12/2011 18:07

GML love the name!

Well explained dexter. All welcome, as long as there's no bosom hoiking at the price of some of the links. They are just links! All styles and all budgets always wisely and avidly covered.

AmberNectarine · 02/12/2011 20:00

Quite right bloss, the only person allowed to pass judgement on my spending is DH [hides bank statement]

MrsCampbellBlack · 02/12/2011 20:01

I've often wondered what happened to the person who started the spend nothing for a year thread - god, can't remember the name of the poster now.

And I remember Eshermummy, ltec and I getting told off as we kept posting links of stuff we wanted to buy which was not in the spirit of the thread - hence ltec started wise and avid Smile

And how amazing that its nearly 2 years and I've made some lovely friends as a result Smile

CHOOGIRL · 02/12/2011 22:17

I think it was Pentheseila (sp) who started the spend nothing..and LTEC who started wise and avid. Agree Mrs CB Lovely friends, nice meet ups and an ever expanding wardrobe.
