I want a jumper dress but it has to be cotton. Can anyone help me?

Hello sage and learned S+B-ers.

I am desperate for a knitted jumper dress. A fair-isle-y one would be amazing but cable-knit would also be fine. I would be wearing it over jeans etc but it needs to be longer than tunic length as I have ENORMOUS legs from knee to hip. Mid-thigh would be fine.

HOWEVER I can't wear wool (inc. cashmere, angora, lambswool, blends etc), OR acrylic.

I think it would need to be a dark colour or realistically I just wouldn't wear it.

ANY help MUCH appreciated.

Hi there

I bought this little number from Dotty P the other day, which is 100% cotton. It's not dark, but grey's pretty wearable.

The site has loads of other knitted dresses, so I'm sure there must be something else there in cotton.

Oh that would be perfect but it's sold out in my size, I found the black one the other day but it was also sold out. I will see if I can get to a store. There weren't many suitable matches which were cotton but Dotty Ps did have the best ones - thankyou Smile

this could be good! How are the arms in yours? I've found Dotty P to be quite snug on the arms lately and I hate that.

White Stuff sometimes have cotton knitted dresses in.

Can you wear any manmade fibres at all? (e.g. viscose, from bamboo I think?)

Almost all clothes have something in them... even if it's just 2% lycra to give them stretch.

Well, the sleeves are 'balloon', so not tight. But yes - glad you've found Dotty P's to be tight on the arms. So have I, and thought I just had freakishly wide elbows.

I can wear trousers which aren't 100% (eg my jeans are 98% cotton 2% elastine iirc), but not tops - I sweat madly (and stinkily), and get itchy. I use a lot of belts Sad
