Flat shoes to go with black lace shift dress (maternity)

Okay, what goes with this ?

My thoughts so far are ballet flats with black opaques or brogues (not black, need to be interestingly coloured, metallic or nude) with pale or nude tights. Or is that weird? And at 34 am I too old for brogues plus shift dress?

None of the occasions I'm going to wear the dress for are very formal and my budget is about £25. Ideas?

I would wear with tan brogues and opaques.

And I'm 34.

I'd wear something like these. They are quite a bit more than £25 though, but may give you some inspiration.

Sorry, forgot to tick the convert link box.

Primark do loads of cute/ brightly coloured/patterned ballet flats for £4.00. It might be worth a look if you have one near you.

Or something like this

as the dress is quite 60s looking.

I did get some Primark cream brogues for a mere £6 and they are lovely, but in the mirror the effect is less Alexa Chung and more "my high heels were killing me but then I remembered these were in the car". Plus, because they are pale laceups they look to me a bit like trainers. Never mind, they look brilliant with my jeans and will also be great with more casual dresses and woolly tights.

Back to my ancient knackered black ballet flats with interesting tights, I think.

Or I could see if these look okay with the dress.
