I have a dress in my head...

Can anyone please help me find something that is even similar to the dress I am imagining?

I need a little black dress that isn't black... Black always seems to make me look washed out, so I was thinking about a copper/warm brown colour. I want something fairly classic that I can wear for a wedding or social night out but also for a night evening with clients. Maybe boat neck, sleeveless or sleeved, but fitted without being clingy and almost knee length instead of mini.

Does this dress exist anywhere? I have a budget of no more than £100. I have looked everywhere I can think of but I think I have a very narrow imagination :)

What about navy? Not sure about brown for a dressy dress

Navy, always go for navy as an alt to black it looks so much better & works brilliantly with gold accessories for the winter season. Good luck :-)

tethersjinglebellend · 01/12/2011 22:55

Or get leopardprint

JennyWren · 01/12/2011 23:02

Cybbo, I like the shape but I don't want a belt. And I'd like a boat/slash neck rather than V. But other than that, its great Blush

Tethers - I'm working through the list! Thank you!!!!!

I would go for another colour, but I'm not sure I'm brave enough for leopard print!

Too gold?

I love the shape of this www.johnlewis.com/286220/Product.aspx dress...

Tethers - I could never get away with wearing that! Size 14, 2 children and mid 30s... mind you - I'm not sure that I had the confidence for that at 18!!

I am rubbish at links Blush but search for Ellie Beaded dress from Coast. Aubergine in colour, sleeves, Christmassy without being in your face. I am 5' 2' and it sits a smidge above my knee, very flattering. It's reduced too! Good luck

Phase 8 'Verity' dress now comes in a dark coppery colour I think. They have sale atm, so would come in under budget!
It's a fantastic dress. (sorry can't link, on phone)

Jaeger is always great for classic well cut dresses, how about this one (should be half-price soon):
