Any suggestions for formal dress or skirt+top in Next?

I need to go to a sherry reception followed by a presentation evening with my boss.
Need something on a budget... preferably not more than £60.
Don't have a clue what to buy...

They have a deep pink pleated midi skirt which could look quite cool, maybe with a black sparkly top??

I just need a few suggestions so when I go and fit it I'm not lost in the shop and don't know what to choose!
