North Face Arctic parka - size help needed

If anyone has one of these could you let me know how the sizing is pls? I'm 5' 8'' and a size 12-14, more towards the 12 end although have reasonably big boobs (am bf) and sometimes find that 12s can be too tight across the shoulders. Wondering whether to buy M or L, but also want to avoid the 'sack of spuds' look in a L!! Have found it online and was hoping to avoid C London so can't try it on.

Appreciate any help - thanks

I'm a 10-12 and got the M. It's like wearing your duvet out. Not a hugely complimentary look but my God it's warm!

I would have thought medium. I'm a generous booby 18 - 20, 5'10 and have the XL. I'd say the sizing is generous.

Just realised it's now available in purple , I've got sensible brown. Bought from Taunton Leisure online, they were v. quick to deliver and price was reasonable (compared to others).

Ditto Celia.

I've got the XL and am a 16/18 - I LOVE it and don't think I'll ever need another big winter coat! I shopped around last year & got a good deal at some random website - my DH got one too & we do look ridiculous out together!

I've just bought a jacket for my husband and their sizing is quite generous. We got ours from the outdoor kit website as it was about 20% cheaper than TNF website

Thanks everyone- think I'll chance the medium then

I am size 8-10 and have the small. I think sizing is generous. I really don't like it much, but it is warm.

narniasnarnia · 02/12/2011 23:31

Don't agree that sizing is that generous.

Tried this on last week, I'm 5' 6" size 10, the small was definitely tight on me so I would have gone for the medium which would have been a bit roomy but OK.

Didn't buy it, bit too much ££££.

Love my north face parka - so warm and worth the money not to be freezing cold standing in the school play yard. Think you should try the medium.

Have ordered the M but from an online retailer with free exchanges - figured I'd cover my bases!

Size 12 is M, size 14 is L, I have tried on their longer coats I'm a 12-14 too although these days I am closer to 14 most of the time, it's not a coat that you want to be too tight. I would say get it in the M but just get it from a company that does free returns to be in the safe side.

Thanks everyone - got the M and it's lovely. Will be so lovely and warm and dry pushing the buggy!
