Hotel Crillon Paris

Can anyone help me get an outfit together for the annual christmas work dinner with my husbands boss which is going to be at the hotel Crillon in Paris see link www.crillon.com/?l=fr#photos . My budget is up to 700 euros and that includes dress, shoes, accessories. I am short, 5ft, size 8-10 but no waist, chest 30D, legs ok. Dress has to be black I think as company is very conservative. I am no good with clothes and need to fit in, am starting to panic because it is a week on friday. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I would push the boat out for an investment piece (still within budget) like this

I love that Valentino Red dress - gorgeous, and there's something about knowing you're wearing a designer label that I know helps put me at ease in situations like this.

I have the LK Bennett dress and it is very flattering though I'm a 36C and it does emphasise the norks somewhat!

Do you want something shorter or long?

Osman This is a British designer, and though it doesn't look that great on the model, I do know his clothes always look better on real women than they do on the professional models.

you could do a jewel colour couldn't you? either that or agree re black with something xtra like the d&G or the valentino.

Disclaimer: nobody has ever let me into black tie/parisian hotel christmas party, so I'm not sure I'll be much help, but... sticking my beak in anyway!

Run to a clever seamstress as soon as you get it, if the length is an issue (on french site)

I love the Crillon. I work nearby and treat the cocktail bar cafe as an extension of my office. The food will be superb. Are you in Les Ambassadeurs or in a private room for the meal?

Thank you for all the suggestions so far, I'm going in to Paris tomorrow and you've given me some good ideas. I think it needs to be shorter rather than long and very simple, then make it more interesting with accessories. I am usually quite scruffy so it's going to be a bit of a leap refreshing change. :)

MrsS- the meal will be in a private room.

I am no help at all, but I waned to say how jealous I am of your do at that hotel! I would love to go there. I am learning French at the moment and am a total francophile.
