I'm an odd shape, help me choose a dress

I have a posh (bow tie, dress type thing) works do in a few weeks time but I always struggle finding a dress to fit.

I'm 5'2" but a size 12/14 on my bum area, big hips and chunky legs & cankles, but a slender 10 ontop, size 34 C boob. So if I find a dress that fits me ontop I generally can't fit it over my hips, or it fits my bum but gapes at the top..

Any idea on style? I'd love to wear a long dress but sometimes they swamp me because of my height, but don't like short dresses because my legs look out of proportion to the rest of me :)

I'm a classic pear shape too- and I've bought some great A-line dresses recently in Oasis, very fitted on top and nice and flowy on the bottom.

What about bustier (Coast) and maxi skirt/wide legged trousers?

I'm a fat arsed saddlebagged pear and usually find good frocks in Coast.

I found this dress online and it's a fantastic shape and fit (and price).
The sizing appears to be quite generous though, so maybe go a size smaller than you usually would if you like it
