Mineral foundation on the high street

Can anyone recommend a good mineral foundation that I can pick up from Boots or somewhere? I've used a Virgin foundation for years and have Rosecea so my skin is mega sensitive. I've tried one or two other normal foundations in the past but my skin flares up.

I've smashed my virgin compact and my usual shade is out of stock so I'm desperate. I've been told mineral make up is good for my skin and I do have a mineral foundation powder from Avon which I only use in an emergency, but the coverage doesn't seem very good and I'm not sure it's the right shade.

Any good high street brands? And any tips for application? I understand it's a powder, does it need 'building up' for coverage or should it cover straight away? And is it really ok for sensitive skin?

John Lewis sell Inika mineral makeup. Coverage so good you don't need concealer.

Unlike many other mineral brands, you don't need to buff it onto your skin (ouch), you can apply with flocked sponge or downward light strokes with a very soft brush. Or you can add a small amount of either moisturiser or water and blend on your face with fingers.

I suffer from rosacea too and this is currently the only make up my face will tolerate. Anything else is painful.

There are lots of others but try to avoid ones with bismuth oxyclohride in as it can really aggravate rosacea.

Lots of people love lily lolo but only online. Body shop do mineral foundation without bismuth but I don't know what it's like.

Others recommend Liz Earle products which work for some.

As Skandi says you need to avoid the Bismuth which is in most brands. The best mineral powder IMO is Lily Lolo- a really good websit and they dispatch quickly.

It is really good for sensitve skin. There is a big fan club on here for mineral makeup if you do a search. Rather than me going into it all look at the Lily Lolo FAQ.

Inika has won awards but it is pricey.
