Has anyone bought the new P&M petra handbag? if so whats it like?

I bought this from them last week, they were at a xmas fair in York. It was good to touch and feel the leather which is the soft grainy type. It has a large pocket on the front for my keys and phone, inside a central dividing bit with a zipper and lots of other pockets etc. It also doesn't collapse when empty which is my pet hate.

I really love it, and even my DH has said it looks more than it costs.... have packed it away for christmas day as its my present from dh... keep peeking though!

I saw the Petra at the Xmas Fair at Sandown. I totally fell in love with the vintage look of the bag (also looks vvv expensive). It's beautifully designed with secret pockets at the front and a surprising amount of space inside for a structured bag. I think I have dropped enough hints that It may be in my Christmas stocking, if not, I'm just going to buy it for myself as a welcome to 2012 present!

Can those of you who've seen it let me know how easy it is to carry - ie, does it fit comfortably over your shoulder or do you have to carry it over your arm?

PS - sorry - and how does the front pocket kneesup mentioned work, please? Can you open it independently of the main compartment just to get your Oystercard/ keys out? If so, how does it close?

Hi polyhymnia it has 2 flat straps so sits well on my shoulders, i'm quite broad. The front pocket can be opened on its own, it goes the length of the bag, has a magnet popper. You don;t really think the pocket opens ifykwim, as the flap just looks part of the design, I was surprised that it opened. I'm a security freak as I go on the tube alot so I wanted something with a zip top too.
