I would love to be able to commission someone to make me some trousers that would fit me exactly. Is this poss? very expensive?? I just want them long, neat down to the knee and then quite flarey at the bottom. With quite a high rise but not gaping at the back of my waist.
or should I buy a size up and get them altered in the right places??

I've used a local seamstress to make my wedding dress and some trousers.

Can't remember how much for the trousers - comparable to what I'd pay - £40 ish? Depends on what fabric you're using, too.

Ask around your friends/family. Usually somebody knows somebody etc.

Local seamstress is definitely the way to go, esp. with a personal recommendation, and much less expensive than you might have thought.
If you're in/near Oxford, try Japlene on Windmill Road

Of course, if you're in London, loaded and want something formal, take a stroll down Savile Row or Jermyn St
