Morning,

Have been lurking on this board for a while and seen some sound advice being bandied about so thought I would jump in and ask for some.

Since I had children I always feel scruffy. I seem to have lost the ability to follow fashion or put decent outfits together and am always in easy dresses and tights or skinny jeans and one of about three tops. I have a beige mac-type coat which I also live in.

DH has v kindly offered to pay for some new bits for me for Christmas and nothing I've seen has really caught my eye. I'm not even sure what is on trend at the moment or even what suits me now.

I like quite classic shapes and shift dresses and I need some new tops and possibly skirts/trousers to go with them but it would be better if they were pre-planned as an outfit iyswim because I am not great at matching items up. Accessories are also starting to look a bit worn out as I haven't bought myself anything new for ages.

One last confession. I have a pair of knitted Uggs. I know! Now, I have worn them to death and rather than buy a new pair, I'd like to find an alternative. I already have a pair of plain black shoe boots which I am trying to wear more so that I can leave the Uggs at home but as they have heels they are not always practical for muddy parks etc.

Has anyone spotted anything which I could point out to DH or could you just offer a bit of advice as to what I should be looking for?

Eversograteful!

Debenhams do a personal shopper service, I have a friend who went (post DC's) and came back with some really good outfits. I have seen it mentioned on here too...might be a nice treat if DH didn't mind sending you off with the cash (you could always pass the stuff to him to wrap...), especially if you are not sure what suits you any more.

...sorry I that I can't think of actual clothing ideas, all of my stuff is boots/tunics/leggings (any other items that can shrink with me as I slowly lose baby lb's) at the moment.
