Toast jumper - shapeless or slouchy?

I have a fantasy of a favourite jumper to wear with jeans. It's charcoal grey (v good colour on me), slash necked, possible with big ribbed cuff and hem. It's relaxed but stylish.

Is this it, or is it just going to be big and shapeless?

I've got biggish boobs and am carry exactly 7kilos more weight than I would like. There's a pic of me on profile, if it helps.

I can't afford it anyway. Feel free to disabuse me.

Think you'd have to be quite thin to wear this. Thinner than me, anyway.

hiddenhome · 26/11/2011 21:06

Mmm, biggish boobs generally don't go well with plain jumpers. I always feel like a potato in mine Sad You could always wear something round your neck ? scarf to draw attention away from the bust area and break up the expanse of jumperishness.

latrucha · 26/11/2011 21:11

hiddenhome - I'm not sure I want to spend £100 on something and then have to draw attention away from it! Grin

UnSerpentQuiCort - hmm. You may be right.

Thanks for making me feel good about not buying it.

with biggish boobs you need to rethink your dream jumper to be a v-neck...

latrucha · 26/11/2011 22:06

Got the message. Smile

Nooooo. Don't listen to this "Big boobs must be put into V-necks": it's twaddle. It depends on lots of other factors. You look small of proportion, especially across the shoulders, and I think you'd be fine.

but ... it is pretty pricey for a jersey. Have a google of Jess Cartner-Morney's article in the Guardian weekend magazine this Saturday. It's about crew neck jerseys and has a selection of nice ones to go with it.

animula · 26/11/2011 22:32

this article

saintlyjimjams · 26/11/2011 22:34

It's lovely. It's toast so it'll be pricey, (I dream of buying toast) but it's lovely.

saintlyjimjams · 26/11/2011 22:36

Oh have a look at Hush - some of the clothes remind me of Toast, but it's much cheaper

Ingles2 · 26/11/2011 22:37

I'm hankering after that jumper too Latrucha
It's got a wide, sloppy, boat neck, so I think it'll be fine with our big boobs...
I'm asking for it for Xmas...

latrucha · 27/11/2011 05:52

I a lusting after Hush pyjamas but will have to wait until my bank balance recovers from Christmas shopping.

A friend has offered to buy me a jumper for Christmas and I suggested this which I think is quite nice but not dreamy. I think it's too cheeky to suggest the Toast one, but she suggested I look at Brora so maybe it's not. ?? No...., it is, isn't it?

well no harm in asking I guess... Smile
Or you could say.... I really love this, but it's ridiculously expensive [hint hint] i'll have a look and see if I can find something similar Grin

WowOoo · 28/11/2011 18:46

I have that jumper. It's so lovely I want to get another colour in the sale.
Send a hint. Get it, get it.

I haven't seen your profile but i think it's quite flattering. On me anyway!

WowOoo · 28/11/2011 18:47

Seen your pic. You'd look fab in it. Honest.

latrucha · 28/11/2011 19:12

I have that jumper in the pink. I love, love, love it. It isn't at all unflattering, and I'm big in the nork department. The quality is great (you can't see in pictures, but the wool is very slightly marled with a subtly different shade of pink), it's really soft and light. I would say, yes, expensive, but on a cost per wear basis it's already down to about £2.50.

latrucha · 28/11/2011 20:56

I have asked and am now a bit Blush. She's going to have a look.
