Love the dress and those boots - and yes I definitely would.

Cybbo · 25/11/2011 18:44

Thankyou

I think I might be channelling those birds in the Addicted to Love video again

Can I take my electric guitar to the ball too?

Yes - that would look lovely.

You need to have a tonne of eyeshadow, some red lipstick and your hair in a croydon.

I loved the Robert Palmer girls when I was a kid, I thought them the epitome of sophistication, them and Virgin air hostesses Hmm

Get0rf · 25/11/2011 18:47

That dress is great - £35 from Dorothy Ps. Have you got it already cyb, does it look as nice in real life?

Cybbo · 25/11/2011 18:48

I HAVE dresed up like that before, for my SIL's 80's fancy dress party

I'm not really going the whole hog tomorrow. Smokey eye I think

I'm doing an experiment at the moment with one glued on false thumbnail to see if it lasts

My real ones are stubs atm

mumatron · 25/11/2011 18:50

I like that.

i may copy you for my xmas do

Get0rf · 25/11/2011 18:52

I can't do false nails. I walk round all night with my fingers distended like some witch.

Do you wear false eyelashes out of interest? I never had until dd put some on me a couple of weeks ago for fun, they made my eyes look HUGE. But god knows how you put them on (and dd didn't make a good job of it tbh, glue everywhere).

MrsCampbellBlack · 25/11/2011 18:52

It is really really nice - is it flattering to those with ahem tummy issues.

mumatron · 25/11/2011 18:54

getorf you can get the individual ones put on for about £10-£20. they look loads better than the normal glue on ones.

Cybbo · 25/11/2011 18:54

Yes I have worn but I'm not going to tomorrow. LOVE them. Putting them on is easy when you've got the knack.

I can tell you the knack later if you like

The dress...its okay, Fits well but has slightly blouson-y bit, sort of empire line level which wouldn't suit someone big of chest. Luckily (or unluckily) I dont have that issue

But great party frock

Thumb nail update- still on

Cybbo · 25/11/2011 18:55

Mrs Cb I think its flattering becasue its sparkly and the empire line bit sort of detracts. its cut quite high at neck with a V to the back

Get0rf · 25/11/2011 18:58

I am going to have a look tomorrow - that kind of dress would suit me, as am long waisted and flat chested. It looks a lot more expensive than £35.

Cybbo · 25/11/2011 19:01

Yes you've summed me up. Long waisted and flattish chested but with too much junk in the trunk

Cybbo · 27/11/2011 10:57

Wore it all last night. Was great

Some people's definition of 'black tie' might need some tweaking though, judging by some of the sights I saw

OP posts:
PattySimcox · 27/11/2011 11:05

Tell all then cyb you know we like a good shallow bitch about other people

Cybbo · 27/11/2011 12:27

ooh lets just say there were LOTS of large booswams threatening to escape from the shallow cups of the dresses they were trembling in- NOT a good look

Also the corset quotient was quite high- I've yet to see ANYONE who looks good in a corset

the pissed gal who pulled up her dress and straddled her boyfriend was quite the talk of the neighbouring tables

And I won some fur cuffs! (not handcuffs)

OP posts:
PattySimcox · 27/11/2011 13:38

Sounds like a top night Grin

trixymalixy · 27/11/2011 15:49

I love that dress! I think I'll order it, anyone got a DP discount code?

MrsCampbellBlack · 27/11/2011 20:37

Aging over-exposed bosoms are one of my phobias - seriously - cover them up ladies - Gok is wrong!

Sounds like you got it right though although fur cuffs sounds slightly dubious . . .

PattySimcox · 27/11/2011 20:58

Aaargh Mrs CB I'm worried now, my aging bosom is all I have got going for me

MrsCampbellBlack · 28/11/2011 06:08

I doubt that very much Patty!

And its my problem not yours Smile
