I feel the need for a lace dress

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/11/2011 20:03

Does anybody fancy helping me find a lace dress please?

Black or navy
Mini but not knicker-skimming
Scoop or square neck ideally
I want to wear it with black opaques, black wedges and perhaps a biker jacket or a blazer.

Ta. :)

There was another thread about Peacocks today and I spotted a nice navy lace dress on their website. bit like that one KMiddy wore on Canadian tour but shorter

Rexy · 24/11/2011 20:11

I have the afore mentioned from Peacocks and it is lovely and looks so much more expensive. Buy it while you can.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/11/2011 20:13

Thanks - will have a look. Don't mind paying a bit more than Peacocks prices for something perfect though.

I really like the shape of the neck on this but it's a top, not a dress!

Hopeful Sunday bump. I couldn't find the the Peacocks one and the M&S top was out of stock andis also out of stock online so I couldn't try it to see if I could get away with wearing a top as a dress!

Tesco

This any good? I wore it to a party last night. Felt a bit covered up though, as there were a lot of women with a LOT of flesh on show Hmm

bigfatgypsy · 27/11/2011 18:46

Oops sorry linked you to my purple one, there's a black one the same.

thenightsky · 27/11/2011 19:07

I found a lovely blue one in Zara, but sadly for me it was a funny fit round the boobs.

If you are less than a d cup you would be fine though

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/11/2011 19:14

Thank you but I can't get that link to work for some reason. Covered up is fine!

Thanks Sky - am a 32E though! Zara stuff never fits me.

this one is very bargainous I bought similar - a stretchy one about 3 years ago from new look and it still going strong!
I'm liking this skater style
I ordered the purple tesco lace dress but ended up sending it back as it had a funny little elastic bit of rouching at the back which made the shape of the dress from the side look a bit baggy

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/11/2011 19:40

I like that first one a lot but sadly I am too old and too round for bodycon!

Remus although I am a size 6-8 I am 43 and still wear that short dress grin
similar but a more modest length

snowmummy · 27/11/2011 20:04

here

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/11/2011 21:37

Sorry - I replied to this ages ago but it seems to have got lost.

The M&S one is nice but too long for me. My legs are fin, so I don't mind short - but at size 12 with big norks, I don't want it to be too clingy.

Thanks for the GP link but I'm not fond of the lace on that one.

OP posts:
southeastastra · 27/11/2011 21:37

don't do it

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/11/2011 21:42

Why SEA?

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/11/2011 21:44

My legs btw are FINE not fin. I am not a fish.

I am looking for one to. Anymore ideas?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/11/2011 20:30

Just seen this one which is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for - but too expensive for me, especially as the quality of MV stuff is v hit and miss.

Remus, same size and shape as you (though only a D in the bust dept.) and I love this dress from French Connection.

Quality good, flattering length. I have slightly different version (lining is black) which if you prefer, I reckon you might be able to find it in some stores as I don't think it's online anymore. On sale too!

henrythecat · 30/11/2011 21:15

Just found the one I actually have...much nicer imo...here

Cheaper and in stock in your size too.

(I also bought the blue and is lovely too)

henrythecat · 30/11/2011 21:16

See you were looking for a navy dress, just to say that the blue is not navy, a bit brighter.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/11/2011 21:34

That's nice, Henry but I think I'd look matronly in it.

Sprogger - I might go and try the MV one on but really I want a cheaper one. I reckon it might be nice dressed down with opaques and ankle boots and maybe a biker jacket.

Has anyone linked to this one yet?

Have just ordered one for my birthday Smile
