I'd like nice, long-sleeved dresses for my daughters

something pretty they can wear on Christmas Day but also get lots of wear from. Everywhere I look, all I see are short-sleeved or sleeveless 'party' dresses. Any ideas please? The girls are 3!

Thanks.

Try looking for dresses (not sleeveless) when you dds are 7 - that's an even greater challenge!
My soloution recently has been Matalan who had lots of long tops/jumpers that dd can wear with leggings - not dresses but dd relatively happy as it doesn't mean wearing jeans/trousers which she thinks of as boys clothes!

LauraIngallsWilder · 24/11/2011 15:00

Phone snipped my post grrrrr

I'd try m&s debenhams or next.
Honestly enjoy the easy challange of finding such things for 3yo's - it's almost impossible to find nice dresses for 7+ unless you want super dooper dowdy/old fashioned styles.

Hence we have mostly given up the search

Debenhams - the Ted Baker girls range is usually good for long-sleeved not sequin-ey but pretty dresses.

Sariska · 24/11/2011 15:04

JoJoMamanBebe have lots of nice long-sleeved jersey and knitted dresses in Christmassy colours. The quality is very good. And M&S have some lovely knitted dresses in at the moment.

Like this? I used to love this site when my dc were little and would wear what I put them in!

CeliaFate · 24/11/2011 15:26

I think this one's adorable too!

ShirleySharpeyes · 24/11/2011 15:37

Laura Ashley do some great girls wear and there are some great discounts at the mo.

Have you checked:

  • the white company
  • jigsaw
  • i love gorgeous
  • boden
  • monsoon

DD who is 2 has long sleeved dresses from most of those places.

CoffeeMum · 24/11/2011 16:10

Agree with Sariska - DD has a fantastic long sleeved dress from JoJoMamanBebe. Its jersey so doesn't need ironing, but looks really smart, but wears really well - a complete winner! She has it in pink stripes, but it comes in heaps of colourways. Oh yes, is also good and warm for this time of year Smile

Thanks for more links and suggestions - I'll have a look at them all. Have spent an hour browsing and am reaching the conclusion that I might have a good hunt in actual, real shops (you know the type? Wink) at the weekend!!

Try Love It Love It Love It. My daughter has some Smafolk and El Sikke Lej ones which are really soft jersey and very cute patterns - one purple one with birds and one cream with peacocks.

TuttoRhino · 25/11/2011 08:40

Oh and I have this for her Christmas dress. It is absolutely gorgeous. Big bargain price if your daughters are size 104.
