Pearl Lowe dress....how to style?

Have just bought this to wear for DP's big birthday night out tomorrow night plus a few other dos over the festive season.

How would you style it?

I'm thinking black opaques plus shoes kinda like these?

I have a pair of raspberry patent 40's style t-bars but I think with the black tights they may make my legs look stumpy (I'm only 5'4)?

I also have some kickass leopard print heels....too much?!

I have long dark wavy hair with a full fringe so am going to pin it up in a half beehive thingy. Trying to decide between the 50's flick eyeliner + red lippy look or the dark smokey eye and nude lips....what do you think?

The sizing runs on the big side though. I'm most definitely a 14 and had to send the 14 back and get a 12.

The colour is gorgeous dark raspberry...not at all brash or tacky as bright res lace can sometimes be.

Plus it makes your boobs look fantastic

hurrah - sounds perfect - I did order a 12 in a fit of optimism even with a pile of size 12 dresses that do not fit .. but I thought the cut as Aline might make it over the hips - just! love the colour so every excited now to get it ..

I've had my eye on that dress too. I'm a small 8 and 5'1 so now thinking it may swamp me. How does the length come up? Bunny I think your first black pair of heels you linked to would look fab. I like these too

It's quite long Clure. I'm 5'4 (just) and with my heels on it's still just below the knee. An inch longer and it'd be entering frumpsville.

I think the length combined with the generosity of the cut means in all likelihood it probably would swamp you .

I would consider going for the jewel tone rainbow and getting a pair of emerald green or purple shoes. But it depends how 'out there' you are happy with I reckon.

It have last years Pearl Lowe lace promdress and it is still going strong. Everyone comments on it and I've never seen anyone else wearing it!

I'd wear it with fishnets (nude if black looked too French hooker-ish!) and T bar shoes.

Do you think the other lace dress of hers comes up big? They only have up to a 14 and I'm a 16.

I think all her dresses come up big TracyK, I'm usually a 12 and all my Pearl Lowe dresses are a 10.

dress and shoes fab! The dress is your statement piece so I would keep everything else low key. Hair sounds great though!

Oh I have been eyeing that dress up. I would wear with black tights and patent t bars. Or nude sheer m & s bare tights and nude heels to let dress shine. Would not do red lips as too matchy.

Ps can you wear bra with it? Strapless I take it?

It's fine with a proper bra Annabella....well one with relatively dainty straps rather than industrial ones. Mine is red so you can't see any clashing bra straps.

Going to go for the black tights/black shoes combo. Tried it with the red t-bars last night and with the length of the dress it was a tad stumpifying. The black made my legs look longer.

Make up will be really defined 50's winged eyeliner and a raspberry lip tint with gloss over the top.

TracyK Buy it! Honestly they're a whole size bigger than they should be. I'm a true 14 and the 12 is super comfortable. The 14 was hanging off me shapelessly.
