at House of Fraser is really vile. I went to check out clothes for 'real women over 35' and the first dress I touched was 50% polyester 50% Acrylic or some other man made sweaty fibre. I was honestly speechless.

And holy crap at the wrap dress. Oh my life... Mary Portas, making 5ft11 size 8 models look 5ft 3 and size 16 since 2011.

I'm just to fat voluptuous. shame

I've got the 'no brianer' dress, the leather trousers and a purple silk blouse which is one thats not by her but is part of her collection.

@ If I wanted something tacky and synthetic, I'd buy per una for 1/3 of the price. Or go to Millets.

Her own dress sense is terrible so I wouldn't buy anything from her. I hate leather trousers.

Hello. We're going to move this thread to Style & Beauty now - we think that's where it probably belongs.

I like Mary - she says what she thinks. I don't have to agree with her, but I admire the way she gets off the fence.
I watched the show and loved it, and bought little ankle boots (fab-u-lous) and a vest and was really looking forward to seeing her shop when in London this week. Oh dear - I was soooooo disappointed. It appeared about 25% of the size that it looked on the telly and only had one member of staff who was behind the till, serving. We saw the bell boys, but they were hiding. My friend and I are slap in the target market and we were ignored. We spent 15 minutes being unimpressed with the stock - as all the 'nice' dresses were not there at all - and then left without being helped at all. Bought a lovely dress from NW3 instead, where the staff were all over us.

Sorry to hear that Forward. I have to say the service wasn't bad when I went but it was Saturday, however the many of the sizes were out of stock. Not that I liked anything enough to buy, however, when I look at clothes I always view my size on the hanger because a size 8 always looks great.

I do like MP but at those prices I would rather buy at a lower price point and spend the money on quality accessories that wouldn't date.
