Which hair dryer?

Dd (13) would like a hair dryer. She has long, fine, curly hair. I haven't used a hair dryer in over 20 years and have no idea what is good and what isn't. I asked a hairdresser the other day and he burbled on about ionisers. Or something. He said it needed to be at least 1600W. That much I remember. Anyone have any recommendations?

Parlux, apparently. I don't have one but if you do a search on here for Parlux there are lots of MNers raving about them! I noticed my hairdresser uses one too...

Something that comes with a diffuser on the end so she can make it curlier if she wants

Aha, thank you, emsyj (and cyb), I shall go on the hunt for a Parlux with a diffuser. What about this "ionic" business? Is this marketing twaddle, or does it make a difference?
