A dress with sleeves. Can you find one for dd's christening?

Dd gets christened in 2 weeks and I neeeeed something to wear.
I can see plenty of things that look ok but all are sleeveless. Not great for a chilly church in December.

Can you find me something?
I've got a v tight budget as maternity leave pay is not great. I'd like to look fab but not too dressy/ OTT as I am more comfortable that way.

I will be eternally grateful! :)

I'm 5foot 2, size 10 (maybe nearer 12 bottom), short legs, fair skin, dark cropped hair

What about Warehouse (they have a few things that might do -- see here or here, for example.

Saw a lovely purple wallis one in a magazine today

RachelHRD · 20/11/2011 22:21

This is nice and these from Boden are lovely.

tethersend · 20/11/2011 22:37

Blue

Mauve

Green

Shift

Whenisitmysleepytime · 21/11/2011 12:39

Oh you're all lovely but I don't like any of them! Sorry

The Boden one is closest but too ££.
A wrap dress is not very me - I've never found one that suited as they either didn't fit across the (limited) chest or hips or was too long.

Any other thoughts? Don't blame you if you wash your hand of me!

Some M&S ones...

lace
red

Whenisitmysleepytime · 21/11/2011 13:17

Thanks bridge!
Those m&s ones will be too long on me.

I usually need a waist to give me some shape as my chest is rather deflated since dd.

There is 10% off and free delivery at Boden at the mo if that helps. Is that thes sort of style you like? Do you prefer patterned rather than plain? Knee length, straight or flared - might help us get an idea of what you like!!

Whenisitmysleepytime · 21/11/2011 14:28

Thanks Rachel!
I like patterns, knee length or higher as I do have diddy legs! :)
A definite waist helps too otherwise i look a bit blocky

I tend to go for more flared skirts - looking at my wardrobe. A straight skirt would be ok but I do have a bit of a squishy tummy and as we're having a big meal after I won't be able to wear control pants to hold it all in! Blush

SickOnMyShoulder · 21/11/2011 19:12

Best dress ever for small norks and big hips!

RachelHRD · 21/11/2011 20:37

Like the Next dress this one is quite similar

Whenisitmysleepytime · 21/11/2011 20:55

Rachel I like that one. :) fat face may be too long on me tho.
Soms - I can't open that link on my iPhone.

I'm going to brave the shops with dd tmrw. Hopefully she'll sleep long enough to do next, fat face and oasis.

Hooray! I bought this. It's the same style as the one you linked to Rachel but different print. :)

Next were hopeless- even the assistant said their stuff this season was awful! Shock

What colour tights do think? I was going to wear tan coloured heels - to save the £££ of buying new shoes.
Navy or black?
Or something else?

RachelHRD · 22/11/2011 13:44

Ooh that's lovely - I love Fat Face stuff. I would go for black maybe a 40 denier so not too thick.

Now you need some jewellery....... :)

Whenisitmysleepytime · 22/11/2011 13:53

Ah Rachel you're a star! Unfortunately there is £0.00 in the kitty till pay day (and then some) so jewellery will have to wait. :)
