Can someone tell me what a UK size 6 is in American sizing?

Pretty please. I want to order something off Gap's website but it's only got American sizes. Thanks .

Here are some good size charts from Landsend which are pretty good.

I think most US sizes are one size smaller than the UK equivalent - so a UK 6 would be a US 4.

I think it is a 2.

My friend is a Uk size 6 and she says the stuff from Gap never fits her as it is always too big.
