I am due ds2 in feb 12 and I am trying to find some button front nightdresses. My dm (bless her) bought me this www.marksandspencer.com/Round-Neck-Long-Sleeve-Nightdress/dp/B004TUZYAI?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_1&nodeId=42966030&sr=1-1&qid=1321730880&pf_rd_r=1NQVYCDMEYAVJVZ4F92Z&pf_rd_m=A2BO0OYVBKIQJM&pf_rd_t=301&pf_rd_i=0&pf_rd_p=215485807&pf_rd_s=center-3#CustomerReviewsHeader

Hmm :o

I would like to exchange it, but am asking here for advise on here as to where I get a more suitable bf nightdress for about £20 or hopefully less, so that I can buy more.

Got mine in Matalan. Not specifically BF nightie but any that open to about the waist will do.

londonmackem · 19/11/2011 19:49

I got mine in primark about £4 - get 2!

coastgirl · 19/11/2011 19:51

£4.80 in Peacocks.

DrSeuss · 19/11/2011 19:52

At least 2. They get leaked on/puked on a lot.
@Londonmackem- are you a Mackem in London or a Londoner who got lost on the way to the Toon?!

MoreBoober · 19/11/2011 20:06

Vest and pj bottoms worked better for me. I needed to sleep with breast pads in so needed a top to hold them in place. Got some from Mothercare and some from matalan (not BF specific ones). Like the Matalan ones the best. You will need a few as will get quickly dirty. Wink

Nagoo · 19/11/2011 22:07

Matalan here too :)

I had special BF jamas with DS, but they were a bit shit. Like my £5 nightie better :)

emsyj · 19/11/2011 22:20

Another vote for Primark. The t-shirt style ones that are £3.50 each (altho price may have gone up I guess as had mine ages) - they unbutton down to the waist. They're ugly and vile but so comfy and really practical. I still wear mine sometimes even though I'm not bf any more Blush.

Secondtimelucky · 19/11/2011 22:25

Does it need to be a nightie? I find 'traditional' pjs like this style (ok, maybe not that pattern! but wanted to find you an M&S link), or ones with buttons down the front the best.

Also, if you will be breastfeeding through the winter cold, think about long sleeves. Especially if you might be co sleeping and having to push the lovely, warm, oh god how I miss it duvet down to your waist.

emsyj · 19/11/2011 22:27

Does anyone else suffer the problem with pj bottoms of ending up waking in a sweat during the night in the middle of a terrifying dream that you are trying to run away from something and finding the pj bottoms wrapped around your knees so you can't move your legs?

Is it just me?? I stopped wearing pj bottoms after the third time.

Secondtimelucky · 19/11/2011 22:28

What do you mean wrapped around your knees. They'd fallen down, or ridden up? I'm Confused.

emsyj · 19/11/2011 23:20

They fall down so the waist is round my knees. Tis very strange, must be the way I wriggle in bed I guess!

phyllisdiller · 19/11/2011 23:47

£8 more for a pack of two here?

I had two from JoJoMamma, bought 4 years ago when I was pg with DC1, DC3 is a few month old and I'm still using them so I've had my moneys worth.

GalaxyAddict · 20/11/2011 00:01

I got some from La Redoute, they have some in the sale from £9.50

Why would you want something particularly BFy? Vest and PJs or strappy nightie?

Nevertooearlyforcake · 20/11/2011 03:09

Another vote for Matalan. Been through two DDs now and am still wearing it...

Nevertooearlyforcake · 20/11/2011 03:10

Anyone else have the Matalan purple nightie with the sheep all over it...?

RickGhastley · 20/11/2011 06:35

mamas I am PMSL at the nightie your DM bought you.

Are you 80 years old Smile?!

moragbellingham · 20/11/2011 07:19

I had bf'ing nightdresses and PJs from Mamas and Papas. They were the best IMO and I still wear them.
I also had ones from other places (with poppers - which were OK) and PJs from buttons from Blooming Marvellous. The ones with buttons were useless as I was sooooo tired I could never be bothered to do them up and used to remain undone permanently flapping around.

Secondtimelucky · 20/11/2011 08:30

emsyj - that is hilarious. Has is occurred to you that they might be too big?!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 20/11/2011 08:38

I also got the £4 nighties from Primark - and some soft crop top things, £4 for two, to wear underneath to keep pads in place. Very comfy and bargainous - don't care if they get leaked all over for that price, I bought 3.

HappyAsASandboy · 20/11/2011 08:53

I would get one of the spotty primark ones linked to above for in the hospital (whispers - when access might be required at the other end too) then go for comfortable pj bottoms and a Jojo feeding vest once home. You'll need at least three tops IME as you'll wear them day and night in the early days, til your boobs settle down and you get more practiced at feeding in normal clothes.

My advice is definitely to save money on the nighty and spend it on the relatively expensive Jojo tops. They're far superior to the mothercare ones (which don't have a shelf inside, so need a bra at night).

Good luck Grin
