Chinos in winter

i bought a pair of chino type trousers from fat face in summer which look great with ballet pumps. But what can I wearwith them in winter? They're slim fit but my calves arent so I struggle with boots. Help! I love them and want to wear them over winter (and I'm 40-should I give up!)

I'd wear them with some ankle boots, maybe this type of thing, or if prefer heel, these might look good. Any boots where the bottom of your trousers just 'sits' at the top of the boots IYKWIM.

Another option would be some short Ugg style boots, they are so wide around ankle that chinos should loosely tuck in fine, unless you're an Ugg hater Grin

I've got ankle boots so that might be a good option. What about converse-or am I being mutton! Not an ugg fan, gotta say!

I think these Clarks Yarra work well with Chinos

Could I ask what colour chino you are wearing this winter?
I need something that isn't jeans but cords just look awful on me and I have no idea why! Sad

Mine are 'kelp'-slightly darker than usual ones. Now reduced to £30 I see!

I have tan, dark green and wine ones. Jeans are not working with my 3-month post-partum muffin top!

I've got wine/berry coloured skinnyish ones too, great colour- but- black or brown ankle boots?
