I've got a "do" next week. Out for a meal, important occasion. I have not got a clue what to wear :(

I've been looking at some clothes online, but if I'm completely honest I haven't got a clue what suits me. I usually just wear jeans, top, trainers/boots.

I'm 5'1", size 16(ish) up top, 18 (ish) bottom. Have 38DD boobs.

I'm fed up of just putting on whatever, and looking like a short fat lump if I'm honest - I really want to look good next week - we've got family coming from all over, some of whom I haven't seen in ages. I can't just go out to the shops and try things on, because I haven't got a day off where I can :(

I know I should have sorted this out sooner. I think I've been fooling myself into thinking I could lose weight before the event and now it's upon me. Help!

sorry, should have given the links to what I've seen. Don't have a clue if any of these will suit me though, and would really appreciate input.

The first one (jersey with longer sleeves) was my initial choice - smart but not too dressy, but I don't know.

Think 1st one is best of your links, but a bit plain maybe.

Have you looked at Dorothy Perkins online, they have a huge selection of dresses. Think this is my favourite.

I know that whoever has reviewed it didn't like it, 1 star, but perhaps they are a skinny minnie Grin

What I'd be looking for (I'm 14/16, more 16 at the moment), curvy with large bust, and find things that skim my figure & show off bust to be most flattering. So drapey is good, arm coverage & aprox knee length, so not too short, not too long.

Petite dress from Debenhams, £48

Same range, black spotted jersey £28 This one looks a bit rubbish in the thumbnail, but zoom in and the spots pattern looks a lot better, and it shows the (seemingly supportive) under bust structure. Also has the coveted arm coverage, as alluded to by MrsV above.

Thank you both! I really like all 3 - I wouldn't have even thought of going for a patterned dress with my figure tbh. I have a lot to learn lol Grin
