Am sure i spied a thread on here the other day about warm coats for the guys, unless I dreamt it, but DH is off to somewhere v cold (around minus 20) with work in a few weeks time and needs a really warm coat.

Work are paying for it but can anyone advise what would be a good coat to get? He's a large lad so prob needs an xxl size but having looked online at all the warm coats there are zillions to choose from.

He's been quite girly and said he would like one that is red if possible Grin

Thanks for your help ladies.

We are in a very cold country and my DH has just invested in a Canada Goose coat. Very pricey but apparently worth it. Not red though, sorry :)

jenrendo · 18/11/2011 19:48

Oh and just googled them and there are red ones!

lizardqueenie · 18/11/2011 19:49

Jenredo Thanks for that but I actually scoffed and said "eff me"when I googled Canada goose coat and saw the prices! :) Looks lovely & warm Hmm, I wonder if we can sneak a coat in for me too!

Yes I know!!! I am waiting to hear his verdict when the snow comes.. If they are really amazing then I may have to start saving!

no red but burnt orange??lands ends coats are fab and they come in warmth ratings , this one is the warmest
girly fur bit comes off btw

ContinentalKat · 18/11/2011 19:59

Any skiing coat will do nicely, and they start at very reasonable prices. Just bought my ds a red one, sure they do them for adults, too!

If company is paying go for Canada Goose!

gateacre1 · 18/11/2011 21:13

ooh Canada goose jackets are fantastic DH and I would both love one
but think they are a bit over the top for walks in the park in London!!
if his Company are paying definetely go for Canada goose

Rab!

CMOTdibbler · 18/11/2011 21:31

Lands End down coats are great, and I wear mine a lot in really cold places that the company send me (but they wouldn't pay for it)

Thanks for all the recommendations. The landsend is getting my vote too, actually just waiting for my winter coat from them to arrive. And ggirl i'd say orange would probably be his second choice colour so wins points on that too!

Although his company are paying I think they might be a bit Hmm if the bill came in for the canada goose coat!

waswondering thanks for the advice, I don't think I could ever get DH to go into a TK Maxx although I know there are many great bargains to be had. Thanks for your well wishes too, can't believe he is going to be away at the start of the Christmas season :(

Take a look at keeps Munro jacket, emergency services up in the highlands use them. Try lochnessferrycompanyclothing.co.uk They have them, or keeps North star coat.
