Another which tights for this dress question?

Christmas night out. Will be wearing a dress very similar to this but comes to just above the knee. Might wear these shoes in teal but also have some black patent leather ones.

Any suggestions as to what I could do about tights? In my younger days I would have just got a tan and gone without but don't think I can get away with that now. Am a size 12 with fairly toned legs but they are more sturdy than slim. I think lace might be too much with the detail on the dress?

Hopeful bump.

Wishing I had thought of a more interesting title Grin

Um, it's a maxi ? is there going to be much leggage on display? If there is then I'm afraid I have to say bare legs and a fake tan. Tights and a maxi at night don't look right, IMO.

In case you don't hate me enough already, I think the shoes are a little ... mumsy. Sorry.

Lovely dress..... The shoes look a bit clumpy for it. A bit too "workwear". Sorry.

Light fake tan only for the legs.

But I NEED comfortable shoes - I can't compromise on that! Grin

LadyClarice - its not the actual dress - the top half is just very similar in style. My dress comes to just above knees.

I am now having doubts about the shoes so if anyone has suggestions for comfortable shoes (must have a strap as otherwise they will fall off my narrow feet) that would be appreciated...

Sorry, failed to read the OP properly! I haven't looked through the whole site, but how about something like these? I have some Carvela shoes a lot like them but in red. They're not too high and the strap and the narrow style of the shoe means they fit well (I have narrow feet too). Colourwise, I'd go for black opaques and red shoes with a black dress.

Thanks LadyClarice - they are nice but can't afford £100. The M&S ones were £45 and have 25% off. Plus the teal is a really nice colour. Can you tell I'm quite attached to them? Grin

They have good sales ? worth keeping an eye on the site.

I think I'd go for black shoes over teal with a black dress.
