Dyeing a coat

Bought some dylon machine dye to colour an oldish coat - light grey to dark grey. However, have just looked at the instructions and it says not suitable for wool (which I assume the coat is made from)... What will happen if I do it? Worth taking the risk?

If you heat and agitate wool it will shrink and felt, unfortunately Sad

I'm not too worried about that happening as it has been washed before and is fine- just curious as to whether the dye will work

Then I would give it a go ! Smile

It may just come out a bit paler........

Thanks- that's the answer I wanted (as opposed to 'it may turn blue'). Nothing to lose...off I go!
