Curly Girl method and regular swimming - incompatible?

So I'm going to try the CG method but am wondering how to get the chlorine out of my hair after swimming - will conditioner only do it? I wear a good swimhat but that's not enough to keep chlorine out imo. Is there anyone out there who's a swimmer and using the CG method?

Also, anyone any recommendations for a chlorine barrier to put on before swimming, maybe an oil-based one?

I do a half-arsed version of the curly girl method (though I still usually straighten mine) and think it's compataible with regular swimming. Make sure your hair is really wet from the pre-swim shower; I then put in conditioner or a pre-shampoo treatment before putting the cap on (I think this might be a bit naughty but hopefully not too much leaches out into the pool). The Body Shop brazil nut one works well for me. Then after swimming I 'wash' with one of the Alberto Balsam conditioners and I finish off with the Naked leave-in conditioner with argan oil.

Hair still doesn't love regular swimming but this is definitely better than chlorine plus shampoo.

Thanks for the tip, will give it a go. Never really thought to condition like that before the swim but it sounds like a good plan..
