What winter coat have you bought your DD this year?

We're struggling to find one we both like which is warm and not too expensive.

Lots of suggestions would be fab

My DD is year 8 and wouldn't be seen dead in a winter coat and chooses to freeze.

DS is 10 and still in my power mwah ha ha and is sensible... got him a great coat in Sainsburys. Have you looked there for girls stuff?

Do you want puffer type or woollen type? Age?

She's 9 but the size of a 12 yr old. We're both open to different materials and styles. Our differing tastes mean we need to keep our options open!

What is her taste, what is yours?

She had said she wanted a puffa jacket but when I showed her a puffa jacket she said it was too puffy and hated it. She likes my coats which are wool military style smart one for work and merrel haven for weekends.

I think I'd prefer her to have something a bit more elegant and smart, like a fitted wool duffle for instance but really I just want her to have something she's going to wear without complaining.

Where have you looked and what is price range? Vertbaudet not exactly cheap but some money off some of these.

My dd got a smart looking coat in Primark of all places last weekend, bargain at just under 15 quid

DD1, who is ten, has gone for a glam fake-fur number from M&S. And a cheapo black anorak from Asda for school!
