I need a makeover

I'm really bored with my clothes just now. I have a 2 year old and an 8 week old and I think I spend more time choosing my daughters outfits than my own. I buy far too many tops in grey and black and just wear skinny jeans most days. I feel really frumpy and like I'm dressing older than I am.

Any ideas of casual outfits / day dresses? Im 25, 5,4 and a size 12

Get someone to look after kids, and get yourself to town and buy some nice things...

are you breastfeeding ( does this need to be a consideration?)

MumToSophie · 17/11/2011 18:32

Thanks for the replies. I'm not breastfeeding and I'm in town quite a bit but I always seem to buy the same kind of thing (skinny jeans and stripy jumpers mainly) I think I just don't know what suits me anymore as I used to be a lot smaller before my babies so I go for baggy things which just end up making me look frumpy!

I found it really hard once i had babies to find my style again. I asked about bf because i'm pg and i keep spotting lovely dresses, getting excited and then realising i still can't wear them. I'm loving zara's dresses in particular at the moment. Your young i bet loads of things look great on you. Its hard to style someone you have never met but i have found websites like refinery29 great for style tips and there stuff always shows Asos and H&M stuff as well as high end stuff.

My post baby wardrobe that i have been putting together consists on some sparkly topshere, jeans, and cardis i also bought some plum skinnycords from gap which i never would have bought before and a couple of blouses all very reasonable but i've tried to move away from plain cotton tops and jeans. I am in love with loads of the isabella oliver collection this season and love their styling in the pics here andanthropologie is great and their sales are always good.

I really like this dress with tights and ankle boots but it depends on your shape dress

Thank you for all your advice :) I'm just having a look through your links and actually starting to feel a bit better about my wardrobe. I have the basics I just need to put them together a bit better if that makes sense. I hardly ever bother with accessories anymore and I think my outfits would look a lot better if I did. Looking forward to buying myself a few new outfits too!!
