Help me find a dress please.....

This is my first S&B post so be gentle please! I am getting married on NYE, it will be a VERY small wedding, only us, DC & witnesses, not telling anyone beforehand, but we are having a small party at home that night where we will tell family/friends. I don't want a wedding dress, just a "nice" dress IYKWIM.

I liked this www.next.co.uk/g4728s1#806246g47 but it's sold out and they don't have it locally either. My only reservation was that it looks a bit short but as model is v leggy and I am v stumpy I was hoping it would be at least knee length when I tried it on (Am 5'2", size 18, 36FF)

I want something that I can wear black tights with and preferably with sleeves and my budget is tiny! Ideally no more than £75 but could stretch to £100 if it was perfect and could wear again.

Please help, have trawled the internet with no joy!

How about this? If you like it, snap it up quick as it keeps going out of stock.

This is lovely if you fancy a maxi

Beautiful

Lace

purple

Beaded

Gillybobs · 17/11/2011 16:53

This is nice monsoon

switchtvoffdosomelessboring · 17/11/2011 16:59

this was on another thread

also nice, with sleeves

I like the next one you linked but would be slightly worried that it would look a bit tentish on you. Would you not be better with something that defines your boobs a bit more?

similar to the next one

nice but may not be flattering in the tummy area

I find though that you really have to try dresses on, as many that look lovely online are not flattering and ones that you wouldn't even consider are lovely on.

I tried this on today and it was a great shape, but a bit loud And it wasn't as short as it looks on the model.

I was going to suggest something a bit more fitted too. Dresses like that tend to do nothing for most folk, eps those over a size 6 Hmm

Geordieminx · 17/11/2011 17:07

this with a bolero?

Oh I love Geordies dress, that is fab. And its effectively your wedding reception, you don't want to blend into the background, you want to dazzle!

here

this would look lovely with black opaques and a little black bolero

Gillybobs · 17/11/2011 17:49

Im a nusty size 16 and wore this Damsel in a Dress to a wedding recently, it is the most flattering dress ever. I wore it will a little faux fur thingy and it looked so so nice. And its ridiculously reduced now £38. Fab quality and fit

Thanks Thank you everyone!

I am absolutely loving the lace & purple ones from tethersend and switchtvoffdosomelessboring - think I might order them both and see what looks best on.

I should have said earlier Blush but I don't really wear all over prints (unless very discrete IYKWIM), and for some reason I feel a bit funny about getting married in black, despite it being quite an untraditional wedding Confused.

Thanks again everyone.
