I’m very new to this and have been embracing my waves/curls for only a few weeks after a lifetime of short hair, then blowdrying and straightening.
My hair is fair, with blonde highlights. I’m still struggling to work out it’s type but it’s wavy in parts with tighter botticelli curls in others.
My current routine is this. I low-poo wash every 2-3 days with Naked Shine poo. I tried to co-wash only at first but my hair looked a mess so I’m sticking with low-poo for now. I’ve noticed a great difference though so this is good.
I then condition with OS, and use L’Oreal Elvive nutri gloss mask as a bit of a leave-in which my hair seems to like. I add UG flirty curls gel and plop for a bit.
At the moment I’m only using high st products as I’m impatient and like to go mooching in Boots, but I’m having frizz problems. I think it might be time to delve into the exciting world of online CG products but I’m not sure which to go for.
The UG gel does calm the frizz right down if I use a lot but I don’t like the crunchiness. Ideally I need something that deals with frizz, plus something to hold it that’s not too crunchy. I’d also like a leave-in conditioner. I’m currently using the L’oreal Elvive mask but wonder if I should use it as often as I do (every couple of days). It contains protein which my hair seems to like but I’m not sure if it’s meant to only be used now and again. I’ve not really read of anyone else using it. I’d like a leave in that I can use every day.
Can anyone recommend some products? I wondered about the Curl Junkie range but there are so many products I’m just not sure which to use.

I'm using the naked products from Boots now and love them for my curls - I wash once a week, although quite often I don't shampoo, just use the conditioner that's got nut oils in it (?). I either use them or Paul Mitchel Super Sculpt to help keep the definition - the PM is great because you can refresh it in the morning (or other times) by running wet hands through the curls and re-sticking them together (at least, that's what I do otherwise I really would look like Crystal tips)

Thanks, I do like the naked range - do they do something that I can put on to tame the frizz? Like a gel or creme? Think 'another' trip to Boots is coming on!

Yes they do - I've got two lots - one that you put on wet and one that is recommended just after washing, but you can use at other times too - both seem to work fine - but they're not in with the rest of the naked range and you have to search them out in the styling products section instead.

In terms of frizz (which I'm prone to) - I always use the conditioners that are designed for dry / damaged / split hair - even though mine's not damaged or split - the extra 'weight' of the conditioner also seems to help to reduce the tendency to frizz.

i've got very fine hair and find most products weigh it down. i use this kiehls if your hair is less fine go for the creme with silk groom. Seems expensive but lasts at least six months with washing my hair every day so works out v cheap.

'Lasts 6 months' !!!! ?????

How on earth does it last 6 months?

Mind you, my hair is coarse and thick - even the hairdresser has worked out now that the 'pearl sized amount' that he first suggested for my hair goes no where and liberally applies what he's putting on now in more like a handful or two. Blush

I have been using Tresemme Naturals conditioner as a leave-in and my hair loves it. Put on soaking wet hair, plenty of it and sometimes finish with Boots Curl Cream (pink one). Not a fan of UG Flirty Curls but I know lots of folk love it.
