Anyone got a good site for basics?

I think my skills need a brush up - my mascara technique makes me look like a spider just died...

Youtube is full of excellent ones. Search Lisa Eldridge and Pixiwoo for starters.

Lisa Eldridge is by far the best and I am pretty sure she covers mascara techniques.

May I suggest for mascara that you get an old mascara (or buy a new one -Clinique Curling mascara is good), and wash the wand of the old one and use that clean as a way of combing through the mascara you put on so that they don't look like spiders legs. Also when you do your mascara start as close the the root of the lash as poss and brush up slowly. Keep going until you get the amount of mascara that you want on your lashes and then comb through (with clean brush) for clumps.
