Argan Oil for hair - Any good?

I've been pondering on whether to buy this or not, is it any good? I have longish hair, a bit dry, probably because i colour it far too often. I use straighteners now and then. Yes, my hair has certainly seen betters days, but i've had too many trims this year and i'm desperately trying to grow it back to its previous length, i just need something to make it look/feel at least a bit better than it does! There's a few variations on this product out there at the moment, The Lee Stafford one and this one

I use the one from Boots that you've linked to and I really, really like it. I used use Moroccan oil, but after lots of posters on here mentioned Argan oil, I thought I'd give it a try. IMO, it's much better than Moroccan oil, smells nicer too.

I also tried that Lee Stafford one but could not bear the smell - it's quite musky and strong.

My hair is normally dry, very thick and wavy (frizzy, if we're being honest!) and it does seem to make a lot of difference to condition. It feels lovely and soft and silky and is much shinier. Cheaper than Moroccan oil, too

Pure argan oil is the best for hair as it has no silicones like MO and the others. Use the tiniest bit - teeny, really, and smooth onto wet hair.

Second the pure Argan oil. It's done my coloured and tendency to frizz hair the world of good. A couple of drops is all you need. Great stuff.

Hmmm, pure argan oil? Where would i find some of that?! I'm guessing it isn't cost effective lol?!

Argan oil is fab, but frankly there are cheaper options. I have very dry, curly hair (thanks to North African genes) and I use oils all the time: coconut, palm, shea butter they all work; even olive oil! If you don't want to risk putting too much on (or don't want to go out with hair smelling of greek salad :-)) just use it as a pre-shampoo treatment. Put it on the night before, massage in, then wrap your pillow in a towel, sleep on it and shampoo twice in the morning. Ta-da! your hair will be back to its gorgeous self!

If you want an intensive treatment prior to shampooing, then leliamum's suggestions are spot on. For extra lusciousness post shampoo just use 2 or 3 drops of Argan oil through hair. Try amazon or eBay, you want it in a dark bottle ideally. It won't cost much.

Oh yes, Leila is right, I used sweet almond oil as a hair treatment. I have fine, blonde/red hair and a single drop of argan is enough for me before drying/styling.

Yes argan oil is fantastic. If budget is an issue B&M are currently selling 150ml bottles of argan oil shampoo & conditioner for 99p and a treatment for around £1.50. In brown bottles, green lids "Argan oil shampoo with moroccan oil"

I wasn't sure about them at first but gave them a go and it has made my hair smoother and shinier, although not as brilliant as a pure argan oil mask, which I've just bought from amazon in the past.

It's good but l'oreal Extraordinary Hair oil is AMAZING!

The proper stuff is brilliant but beware cheap imitations which don't really do the job. The original Moroccan Oil is still the best I've found although v.expensive!

I bought a bottle of this argan oil from Amazon and it's been absolutely fantastic, the best thing I've ever used on my hair.

I mix in a couple of drops with my usual (Aussie) conditioner, rinse it out as usual and afterwards my hair is lovely and glossy. Even my hairdresser said the conditioner of my hair had improved last time I went and he's usually quite critical!

Should say condition of my hair, not conditioner!

Hi deltawab! Moroccan Argan Oil has amazing benefits for hair, you just want to make sure you are buying the real stuff. It should absorb instantly leaving hair shiny and soft without weighing it down or leaving it oily. Pro Naturals has an Argan Oil that does this. I hope to be helpful..

Fushi's Argan oil is by far the best quality I've ever tried, you can get it online. It has to be cold pressed, unrefined and organic for best results. But everyone has different hair, for some coconut oil works wonders. My recent discovery is the really good hair oil, also by Fushi, it's a blend of different oils, somehow they work really well together and make a real difference to my hair.

I use Dr Organics Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner from Holland and Barrett and it's made a difference to my poorly conditioned hair.
