Biker boots - I despair of shopping with two kids in tow

Secondtimelucky · 13/11/2011 21:51

I have trawled round the shops today and it was shit. One baby, one toddler, and one DH does not make for a good shopping opportunity.

What I'm looking for is some boots. Best way I can think to describe what I'm thinking of is biker-ish. Needs to be brown. Nothing with a high heel. Not too shiny. Preferably that will suit looking a bit bashed up. Not too fussy. I'm thinking something you could see Caitlin Moran wearing (my secret style crush, although I dress nothing like her).

Any ideas, preferably where I can buy on line? Please, please. I'm not attempting non-directional shopping again before Christmas. I value my sanity too much.

TK maxx had some and zara have some online here.

Panzee · 13/11/2011 21:57

Next?

Secondtimelucky · 13/11/2011 21:58

Oooh, I like the Zara ones.

Me and TK Maxx do not get on. I swear to god they hide the good stuff when they see me coming. I see all my friends in lovely things they got from TK Maxx and when I go all I can find are nighties that would see sparks fly for all the wrong reasons. Oh, and grobags. I will admit success on grobags.

Hmm, really want brown on the Next ones. Are these nice or nasty?

This sort of thing?

What size/budget?

Secondtimelucky · 13/11/2011 22:04

Sorry, keep cross posting. SirToffee - why have you returned loads, just general online returns, or are they a bit iffy on sizing? I do really like those (typically, the most expensive yet!)

Clarkes have some excellent biked boots this winter. I haven't bought a pair if shoes from there since I was a kid, but have bought two pairs of their boots from current range. Can't do a link as on phone but they available online

lou33 · 13/11/2011 22:06

laredoute sell some

SirToffeeDoris · 13/11/2011 22:08

Not iffy on sizing, I am just picky! Trying to find the perfect winter boot; and because I know they are easy to return to, I don't settle if I am not completely satisfied. Had a pair of boots for nearly a year (kept forgetting to post them back) and they honoured the 365 days policy.

too tall?

Here?

too light?

£££

Here?

lou33 · 13/11/2011 22:10

zalando too

Secondtimelucky · 13/11/2011 22:32

Thanks all. I think the Rockport ones are winning so far.

I loooove the Frye ones Tethersend, but you're right £££. Don't think I can justify that much.

Zalando is a great website. Some fab stuff on there. Hadn't see it before.

secondtimelucky the code WNTRJAVA gives 10% off at Javari. FWITW, I have those Rockport bikers in black. I find them very comfortable for walking. The heel is about 2 inches, and they are pull on rather than having a side zip. HTH :)

Secondtimelucky · 14/11/2011 12:06

Oooh, thanks. The sole looks quite thick too, so I'm assuming that your foot is at less of an angle than, say, a 2 inch court shoe. Look like good stomping boots!

Tethersend - I missed the Kew ones. They are a bit of a bargain. Sadly am not a 36. Have stinking great size 8 feet.

Yes, the heel is offset by the chunky sole, so feels like a flat boot. Im definitely not a heels person and these are a very comfy boot for me.

Nippysnippy · 14/11/2011 14:15

Clarks has some really tempting ones. Sorry can't do links as am learning to navigate my way around this tablet jobbie.
Anyway....I have tried some of the multi buckle ones on and they are lovely. Not too pristine looking but shaped beautifully and not too heavy. Def worth a go this year.

bridgeandbow · 14/11/2011 14:21

Magician game from clarks are nice- but black...cant link on phone
