I have never been allergic to anything and did dye my hair with home kits a couple of times when I was younger with no problems. But in July my hairdressers did a skin test as I was going to have a full head of gloss but I had a bad reaction which started with stinging and progressed to the skin becoming raw and peeling away so he did some foils instead which was ok but obviously did not give as good a coverage.
I still want to go darker but am nervous now as I have heard stories of people having ok skin tests then getting a reaction days later!
I have also had bad dandruff and some scabby spots around my hairline in the past few months which makes me think my scalp is very sensitive now.
Is dying without using foils a no go for me now?
