Is this a nice dress and what shoes go with it?

I'm going to a dinner at a nice restaurant next week with my future work colleagues (I've just been accepted into a partnership) and I am very unsure about what to wear.

I'm 31, size 16, big boobs, long dark hair. Worried about looking too young and want to look sophisticated and elegant but not too formal Confused

I think I've over thought this and lost all perspective. Help please!

I like the shape, but the embroidery is a bit next.

Will have a look around...

Biba

Asos

Outnet

SeriousWispaHabit · 11/11/2011 20:25

I love the outnet link but there is only a 12 left, which would not get up past my knees sadly. Good website though - have added it to favourites!

Bugger. Will keep looking. Will pay attention this time.

Agree the shape is nice, embroidery a bit naff

asos

asos 2

Had my eye on both of these for a bit

Asos Black Midi

Asos Curve Dress

Asos Black Chiffon Dress

The dress you picked definitely won't make you look too young, tis quite dowdy for a 31 year old imo Blush

Here?

No 16 but may have one in store

tethersend · 11/11/2011 20:46

Ignore the dodgy name

Here

SeriousWispaHabit · 11/11/2011 21:11

I like the Asos curve one and quite a lot of other ones in that range but they seem to start at a 20 which would be definitely too big.

I also like the French connection fitted black one and will keep that as a possible but would really like to try and buy something Not Black if possible (always end up with black dresses).

I agree Bangtastic, I think I've just started worrying too much about having something too short or too 'clubby' and gone completely too far in the other direction. Have regained perspective and now looking at some new websites that your lovely links have directed me too. Will step away from Next Embroidery (TM).

Oh God sorry, didn't realise they started at a 20, thought the Curve line would be similar to Evans and start at a 14! Blush

Glad you have been nudged back in the right direction though! :)
