Opaque tights

Where do you buy your comfiest opaque tights? I've only ever bought M&S but even when I buy large or extra large, I find them uncomfortable at the waistband, as they dig in and feel tight (I know they are called tights, but really!)
I am 5'3 and size 14 trouser (12 on top and 12 in dresses) so shouldn't need extra large according to the size chart, so I think I need to give up on M&S!
Anyone got any tips on favourite tights please? (I have tried hold ups but can't help but feel too exposed when wearing a skirt!)
Thanks x

I'm a little ashamed to say I have spent £££ on Wolfords over the years - to find out - I much prefer (ahem)Smile Primark Smile

The ones I like are 150 denier and have a bit of a woolly, stiched look . You can * only ..... just ...... If really look very hard ' see your legs through them . I hate seeing my legs through tights - I bought em to cover them up Grin

120 denier New Look ones are my favourite. They are properly opaque with a smooth legging-y look rather than wooly stitched. Cost a fiver which I baulked a little at at first but they are a real staple for me and they've lasted well.

Thank you both - will check those out

maybunny i am a size 8/10 and I buy large in M&S tights for exactly the same reasons as you. My best pair are tummy & thigh control ones - the waistband is much higher and deeper than their normal tights and doesn't dig in or give you a muffin top. I also prefer these to my Wolfords!

I was amazed pleasantly surprised by how good Tesco's F&F Velvet Touch 120 denier tights are. £4. Bargain. (and quite generous so you might have to go down a size)

I don't know what's gone wrong with M&S tights suppliers. They used to be really reliable across the whole range, but they're nowhere near as good as they used to be, apart from maybe the Autograph cashmere ones.
