Please help a useless soul

I've finally found some boots I like, that fit me yay me

but I've realised I have no idea how to wear them. Until now I have always worn slight bootkick jeans to balance out my incredibly wide hips but what do I wear with kneehigh boots?
I've never worn skinnyfit/jeggings (whats the difference)/ leggings because though I am reasonably thin (seen side on) I am so so wide of hip and am worried I would look like an a tall spinning top

What would suit my shape?

Not the right red but looks nice and stretchy and you could try sizing up, or wearing a bit lower with a belly band.

Could you get away with nonmaternity but stretchy?

I just want a red skirt to wear with a black leg-of-mutton sleeved blouse.

I can find neither.

Perhaps I'll just succumb to next maternity jeans.

Unfortunately there's no sizing up for me at Warehouse- was a 16 before the waist took on a mind of its own... it will have to be maternity I think.

Or could you wear a red jersey pencil dress dress with a blouse over the top
with a belt to make it look like its a skirt?

I don't think any of them would fit me

Just so you get what I am up against.
Last time I measured I was about waist 30 hips 44ish though I have lost a bit

And its all width apart from some loose skin from 4 babies my stomach is relatively flat
