I want some skinny jeans.....

But I just can't find any that fit properly.
If they fit in the leg I can't get them over my, let's say ample, tummy. Or if I get em over my backside, they are way too long in the leg. Or they flap about at the waist.
I'm just not built for them am I? Waaaa

h&m skinny jeans are dead stretchy and only £9.99 so not much lost if they don't suit. Good luck, jeans shopping is a most hateful task.

40notTrendy · 10/11/2011 18:05

It is. I discounted H&M coz I tried a pair of cords on recently that fitted so badly I laughed before I started sulking! Walked past today, should have gone in

have you tried oasis? the style is 'cherry' and they have a bit of stretch in them and the waist isn't too low either. i love these!:)

Piffle · 11/11/2011 19:05

Topshop baxter are the best ones I've found

MrsCampbellBlack · 11/11/2011 19:09

Yes baxters very good and I am apple shaped. But wash on delicate and never ever tumble dry.

Maarias · 11/11/2011 20:10

Uniqlo do fabulous skinnies, with stretch in them. They start at around £19.99, and the alter the length for free. I really like their quality and fit.

Gap legging jeans are stretchy but fit very well.

brighthair · 11/11/2011 21:53

I recommend these all the time, 12.50 flat front skinny jeans. Hold everything in too

harbingerofdoom · 11/11/2011 21:58

Baxters fan here. Wash with all other :crap jeans. tend to tumble dry after other drying.

101North · 11/11/2011 22:15

love baxter's shape but i've had 3 or 4 pairs and they've always gone through on the knee really quickly.
its either a sad indictment of the quality of high street garments or i have really pointy knees Confused

TIDDLYMUM · 11/11/2011 22:21

I am no skinny jeaned shaped girl, I am a hippy size 14 . I have two pairs of mint velvet straight legged jeans and they are lovely. Not dead skinny but straight decently high waisted. They were forty nine fifty but I got them at Hof on promo twenty per cent.I love them !

HugosGoatee · 11/11/2011 22:24

I love Oasis Cherry jeans.

This thread has reminded me that I was lovely and skinny last year due to some excellent possibly unhealthy zero-carb dieting and have a pair in a size 8 Smile I am entitled to be smug as I have never, ever had size 8 jeans before.

neglects to mention current size 16 pregnant arse

101North · 11/11/2011 22:32

Go Hugo! - size 8 is very wee. nowt wrong with having a size 16 pregnant arse..............errr i think!?!?

Bangtastic · 11/11/2011 22:45

I hate the place with a passion but Hollister do fantastic skinny jeans. They have a stretch in them too and are really comfortable to wear, I'd go as far as to say they are the best jeans I have ever owned. Lift my arse back to where it should be too Grin

Quite low rise though so may want to consider a possible muffin top and invest in some Spanx alongside the jeans!

I have Baxters and thought they were good until I got some Gap Premium super skinny jeans. I'm a size 10 but have a terrible jelly belly after all these babies and I can kind of tuck it into these jeans. Bloody genius Grin

Makeyerowndamndinner · 12/11/2011 11:09

I am personally not a fan of Baxters. I find the rise too low - not good when you've had three kids!

I second the plug for Oasis jeans. They have a proper mid-rise and are far more flattering I think.

Mumelie · 12/11/2011 13:13

Dotty Ps extra skinny jeans in a size bigger - honestly it works for slim legs big tum

heavydutyjudy · 12/11/2011 14:08

I agree with the Dororthy perkins - super skinny, super stretchy black ones...really comfy and I am not skinny!

MrsVoltar · 12/11/2011 16:05

Agree with Dorothy Perkins

Also got some in Matalan recently, never usually buy anything there but got some nice stretchy skinny jeans.

40notTrendy · 16/11/2011 21:46

Gosh ladies, I'm so sorry, I've only just checked back (been a busy week Blush).
I have the Oasis Scarlet jeans so went to try their Cherry jeans on, but they were way too long on me so the skinny-ness was a bit lost, they just looked badly fitted.
Will try Dotty Ps and Gap as the big tum is definitely an issue Grin. I always feel like a fraud going into top shop, waaayy too old.

Hollister I've never heard of?
Thanks all Smile

Topshop jamie are the stretchiest ones I have found. Better than baxter. Also gap started doing a high waist in their always skinny range (but these are more jeggings I think).
