So they get all the votes from the press - anyone really got a pair (anyone other than a pre pregnancy size 6 model type 6 footer that is) and are they really worth the dosh if one is 5ft 4 and a size 12?

Try Top Shop if you live anywhere near a big store, mine are so comfy I still wear them now I am 5ft 4 and was a 14 (sigh the good ol days)

OOh sorry just read your question again, you wanted to know about seraphine jeans not a general recommendation. Looked them up they look nice and not obv maternity jeans, I was hankering after Earl jeans when pregnant after seing that they were recommended by Trinny or suzannah. Jeans are a necessary maternity investment partic if you are still in early stages so you have justification for spending more

Pookey, TopShop jeans don't really fit me even when not pregnant not sure why must just be 'odd' Earl jeans - I'd then be entering the world of designer labels wouldn't I? A bit scary for me - surely neither Suzanne nor Trinny are 5ft 4 and a size 12 so I think I'll take their recommendations with a pinch of salt....(whilst checking out a website with Earl jeans on of course...!)

Poms mom I couldnt really fit in topshop pre pregnancy that was the best bit about being pregnant - i suddenly could shop in Top Shop and actually became a bit more trendy .
Trin &Su are over in my opinion anway - so 2002

I had a couple of Seraphine tops which I loved and lived in. Agree that Top Shop Maternity is much, much bigger than regular top shop.

I reckon from the lack of messages that not many people have splashed out on Seraphine - maybe I'll do it, get a pair to try and then send them back if they don't fit....Mind you with a 'regular' leg length of 31" I might have to find some stilts to go with them....Anyone got a pair of stilts going free?

I have a pal who swore by her seraphine mat jeans and she did look good in them. I never tried on the jeans, but any other trousers I tried on in there just didn't work for me, I think they are cut for the no-bum type of french woman (!). However, I LOVED my topshop mat jeans, even though I was never able to wear top shop ordinary jeans pre-pregnancy.... they definitely get my vote....!

Thought the Seraphine jeans were pretty hideous and unflattering on me. Topshop ones much nicer. But everyone is a different shape!

PomsMum · 05/01/2006 13:06

Hmmm lots of votes for TopShop jeans then - maybe I'll go there and try a pair on and spend the money saved on chocolate..... Bum-less French women, oh those chic, skinny ones, that look so effortlessly stylish - don't you just hate them?

Just in case anyone's interested - I went to Topshop - which was closed on a Sunday (it was Portsmouth so maybe not representative...), so I got the hump, bought a pair of Seraphine jeans on line, they've arrived today and other than being too long (as to be expected when 'regular' inside leg is considered to be 31') they look great and seem to be dead comfortable....

i gave my hennes black ones to a friend recently and she confirmed that they're v comfy/pretty flattering and most of all they were cheap
