Am thinking of having them done at beauty salon. Have posh do to go to in a few weeks . Am mid 40s and feel my eyelashes are no longer fluttery and alluring! Am I too old to get them done? ( dread looking like Danny La Rue). What do I need to know before I get them done - do they hurt/ make your real eyelashes fall out? Enlighten me please ladies!

i've had eyelash extensions for 2 years now, you have the full set done initiailly and then you have infills every 2 to 3 weeks.. You are never too old and as long as you keep them short - 12's would be ok (goes up to 16's +), then you'll be fine.

This process if done continuously thins your natural eyelashes from what I understand. But once in a while shouldn't do too much harm.

My friend has done this for a few occasions and she says she wakes up to find one or two have come out of place or dropped out each day after the first couple of days. Otherwise, they can be very flattering when done right and when they are not overdone lengthwise.

My line manager has them. They look really nice and natural.

I had them done for my birthday. I specifically asked for not too many because I didnt want to look drag queen and I thought they were lovely, however they didnt last for that long (couple of weeks) I also found that shedding them was a bit wierd lol. There didnt seem to be any effect on my existing lashes, the fake ones just sort of shed gradually. It didnt hurt - not even uncomfortable - it was just a bit time consuming.

Thanks girls - you've persuaded me! Will probably get them done a few days before the " do" I'm going to, so I've got a bit of time to correct things if they go wrong!
