I'm ditching my old perfume. DH wants to buy me some for Christmas so i'm trying to track down a new one.
I've come home armed with some samples today but I really want to see if I like the new Jo Malone Wild Bluebells scent.
There isn't a stockist anywhere near me. Could a lovely mnetter possibly get one and post it to me?

Pretty Please....

You can get a free sample of fragrances direct from jo Malone. Their [[
www.jomalone.co.uk/ website]] has this info under FAQ:

If you are unsure which fragrance to choose, please call +44 (0) 870 034 2411. You will receive a complimentary Fragrance Combining? consultation and our specialist team will help you select a fragrance, you will also receive a complimentary sample which will be posted out to you.

hmmm they're just going to try and sell me something if i do that. Maybe i'm reading it differently but you get the complimentary sample when you buy something.
I might just dispatch the bewildered DH to a Jo Malone boutique on his lunc break!

I work in cosmetics. Trust me they will try and sell to dh rather than you! I would call them. You would be amazed how much free stuff we give away if you come in and are honest and friendly. It's not cheap, we understand that, and I for one want my clients to be 100% sure I'm recommending them what will work. I would say 95% come back and buy something they have sampled. Call them. They won't mind orpressure you to buy

right. i'll call them tomorrow. have just been having a good read of all their scents on the site and think i have a good idea of what i like.

i get scared by make-up/perfume counters in dept stores. I've never really bothered with it all!

I phoned them and asked them to send samples of things I liked the look of, and they were happy to oblige.

BuildersTea · 09/11/2011 17:13

Yes, do call them. I called them a while ago and explained that I couldn't get to a store very easily but was desperate to smell some of their scents. They couldn't have been more friendly, didn't try to sell to me at all and sent me three samples free :)

Alot of people are a bit scared by them (I was before I Worked with them) but honestly they are not scary! We don't hard sell, not in my company anyway coz we need repeat business so there would be no point! And yea I ask people if they want to sit down and try something new. But mostly Its because I enjoy doing it. You get to see how you look with something different and IF you decide today, tomorrow or 4 years down the line you need new make-up/perfume/cream you would remember me or at least the company I work for and come back. I don't expect people to buy. That's a bonus. It seems to work as we are very, very succsessful. Embrace them! It's fun!

I only ever buy jm at gatwick duty free and other than a quick do you need any help I was left alone to browse and squirt merrily.

Due to the no pressure I ended up buying far more than I intended ..and the lady gift wrapped them all individually and gave me another couple of boxes when I remarked I use them to store stuff in.

thought i'd update this. I've been very busy so only just managed to find a quiet 5 mins to phone them,

The girl i spoke to was very friendly, and has taken my details and said she'll do what she can but can't promise. They don't do samples of at least two of the scents i really want to try. She's going to 'try' and send out samples for the other two i wanted to test, though they are my reserve scents.

I'm feeling a little disgruntled to be honest. They only have one store in a 50 mile radius of where I live and to be honest I have no other reason to go to this city - it seems a bit much to go just to smell some perfume.

by the way the scent i'm ditching is Chanel No5 so if anyone can offer up suggestions of what I might like instead then let me know!
