The Essential Wardrobe on a budget

I'm pretty hopeless when it comes to clothes and what tings go with what. My wardrobe at the moment consists of several pairs of plain black trousers and several long and short sleeved tops (mostly pink or purple) from Asda.

I would like to totally re-vamp my wardrobe but my budget is very limited. I need to always have something to wear for every occasion, work, out with the children, out for a meal (pub restaurant type place) and the odd family party.

I am size 12, 5 foot 4 with shoulder length slightly straggly dark brown hair.

What do I need to buy and can you link to pictures as I am hopeless at imagining styles.

I have a couple of dresses that I bought from ASDA that were less than £20 and I have never had so many compliments from people about them. They dress up and down and are comfy.

I would buy a dress, a good pair of jeans and lots of tops and some boots and a jacket. Depending on the work you do, a nice trouser suit always comes in handy and accessories can make an outfit.
